Toll increase at Ryde Pier
The pier toll will increase by 100% from Sunday 15th September with the new cash price set at £2. The installation of a new, faster entry system does mean that contactless payment through bank cards and smartphones will now be accepted at the reduced rate of £1.30.

Revenue rises at Brighton Palace Pier
The pier saw revenue up £200,000 to £14.7m following its first full year of trading since the upgrade of the restaurant and bars last year, while its conference and events business was up 37% year-on-year. Arcades and catering sales were up £600,000; however, rides and retail were disrupted or closed by high winds and rain, meaning EBITDA was down £300,000 versus last year.

Progress update on Ramsey Queen’s Pier
Project manager Stuart McKenzie said: ’As far as an estimate of when phase 1 will be completed, i.e. bays 1-3, this is difficult to calculate until we see what problems come to light. ’But if no major problems are encountered, and we can get a decent fabrication slot for bay 2 and 3’s steel, then I would hope the initial pilot phase can be completed next year.
