As a part of the ‘ Year of the Pier’ celebrations renowned historian Norman Jacobs will be presenting a fascinating and entertaining talk focusing on the entertainment history of Clacton and the Pier. Clacton used to boast several cinemas, theatres, concert halls and pier theatres and Norman will be looking back at the Golden Age of entertainment. Gavin Henderson CBE, President of the NPS, will join him, entertaining us with his memories of playing at pier theatres in his early career with municipal orchestras.
