The owner of Llandudno Pier has revealed plans for a multi-million-pound entertainment complex at the old Pier Pavilion site.
Adam Williams said the new complex would likely include a bowling alley, bars and restaurants if plans were given the go-ahead. The plans were currently at an early stage but would be submitted as a future planning application.

HCC vice-convener Peter Brown told the organisation’s November meeting: “There are a number of opportunities for the pier and we would obviously like to be involved with what’s going on. Ambitious plans to build a new pier and marina at Queenborough on the Isle of Sheppey created a swell of support. The new pier was planned to have a 1.2km frontage joining the former Flushing Pier with the HMS Wildfire Pier near the Old House at Home pub. Porthcawl Pier and harbour damaged in Storm Barra
Porthcawl Pier was significantly damaged during Storm Barra. Porthcawl Harbour saw “significant damage” following the storm on the evening of Tuesday, December 7, with scaffolding falling towards the sea. The pier was off-limits to the public recently during repairs, however, the storm caused a large section of the scaffolding at the Porthcawl Breakwater to collapse.

Falmouth mayor Steve Eva told members of the town council’s finance and general purposes committee that steps on the Prince of Wales Pier were disintegrating at an alarming rate. He said since the last inspection by Cornwall Council in June the destruction had accelerated with more steps falling into the sea.

The Yesterday TV programme ‘Great British Landmark Fixers’ featured the restoration of Southend Pier in the latest episode. The programme explored how saltwater and iron don’t mix and Southend Pier built back in 1888, has seen better days. Now a team of specialists were working hard to prevent it from falling into the sea.

Southend Pier’s new trains ready to roll in February
It was announced in December that the £3 million fleet of electric pier trains should be ready for their first passengers within a few weeks’ time. The new trains were currently being tested, and after positive initial results councillors hoped the vehicles would be carrying visitors by February at the latest.
